Public Works: Qulay'at Airport Operates Independently

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport confirmed that the additional works and equipment required for Qulaylat Airport are not part of the airport's main operating contract, nor do they fall under the investor’s responsibility or their agreement. Instead, these are supplemental services necessary for security and military authorities to enhance the airport's operational readiness both security-wise and technically. These improvements will be carried out by the General Civil Aviation Authority through a transparent tender process in accordance with public procurement laws. They will not affect the planned start of operations for the airport, which is scheduled according to the established timeline. The ministry emphasizes that these works are not obligations of the investor and will not impact the airport's opening date; rather, they will contribute to strengthening its level of readiness after opening.
