80-year-old Frenchman paragliding in Lebanon

Lebanese authorities are investigating a large-scale forgery scandal that has spanned 15 years involving paragliding certificates. It has been revealed that an elderly French instructor issued training certificates to individuals without authorization from the French Free Flight Federation, posing a risk to aviation safety and passenger security in Lebanon. The ministry and authorities are responsible for thoroughly verifying the authenticity of these certificates, as there is a possibility of forgery and overlap in the accreditation of qualifications—especially since the certificates are linked to individuals who accompany passengers. This situation calls for a review of compliance procedures and security standards. The investigation will continue to determine the validity of these documents, and no comment will be made until it is completed, with a potential escalation of the case.
