Kalās: Sovereignty needs weapon controls and authority extension

The article discusses Lebanon's efforts to achieve full sovereignty by restricting weapons and establishing the state's authority over all territories, emphasizing the need to disarm Hezbollah and create a security vacuum in the south. International efforts, led by the European Union, have highlighted support for the Lebanese army and strengthening its capabilities, including sending a civilian-military mission and providing financial aid, to ensure stability in the country following the UNIFIL withdrawal. The positions also reaffirm that Lebanon's security should be under the authority of its government, and any new military force should remain under the United Nations' umbrella. Meanwhile, Israel continues to violate agreements, and supporting countries are exerting pressure on Israel to end these assaults, amid concerns that UNIFIL's mandate will expire without a suitable replacement.
