Industry Minister sets olive waste rules

Minister of Industry Joe Issa Khoury issued a decision urging licensed olive oil mills to collect the olive brine in suitable tanks and not to dispose of it into the environment. The decision also includes strict warnings of closure if there is non-compliance. Additionally, the mills are directed to gather the pomace in a separate room, ensure adequate ventilation, and hand it over to relevant authorities for reuse or recycling, in order to protect the environment and reduce harm. The purpose of the decision is to organize the disposal of agricultural waste and promote environmental sustainability in the olive sector.
