Hekal reviews military ties with Cyprus

The Commander of the Lebanese Army, General Rodolphe Hichak, visited Cyprus on October 7 and 8, 2026, in response to an official invitation from his Cypriot counterpart, General Immanuel Theodorou. There, he met with Cypriot Defense Minister Vassilis Panidos and discussed the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as ways to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries. The meetings included laying a wreath at the Martyrs' Memorial and visiting military centers, such as the Sinclops Training Center and the Joint Rescue Operations Coordination Center, where he observed joint exercises and training sessions between the Lebanese and Cypriot armies.
