Jumblatt Revisits October War Myth

On the 53rd anniversary of the October 1973 War, there was a commemoration of its role in breaking the myth of Israeli military superiority. Walid Jumblatt posted on X (formerly Twitter) a photo of Egyptian Major General Abdel-Ghani Gamasy, the Chief of Operations of the Egyptian Armed Forces during the war, emphasizing his prominent role in the success of the military operations that began on October 6, 1973, against Israel. Gamasy is considered one of the most prominent commanders associated with the October War, having held key leadership positions including Chairman of the Operations Authority of the Armed Forces, then Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and Minister of War. The anniversary aims to recall the war that changed the course of the conflict in the region and to reaffirm the importance of the Egyptian military's role in achieving victory.
