Constitutional Council's Amnesty Concerns Amid C4 Worries

The attached document confirmed that the Constitutional Council partially rejected the appeal against the amnesty law in Lebanon, while maintaining certain interpretive reservations that limit the scope of the amnesty, especially concerning corruption crimes in accordance with international agreements. Although the decision is considered a limited step, it reduced the expected negative impacts and allowed for the protection of the rights of victims and the families of martyrs. All Sunni MPs completely rejected the decision and are determined to confront other projects. Additionally, Prime Minister Nohad Machnouk highlighted the state's commitment to continuing investigations into the explosive devices discovered along the border, assuring that the investigation will reveal the involved parties and their plans. Meanwhile, regional events have focused on the conflict in Yemen, the targeting of Saudi Arabia, as well as smuggling operations and clashes along the Lebanese-Israeli border.
