Lebanese Electric Board's Announcement

The Board of Directors of the Lebanese Electricity Company announced the preliminary approval to restart the Zouk and Jiyé plants to enhance the country's electricity production. This decision came after a thorough technical and judicial review, with an emphasis on coordinating with relevant authorities and respecting judicial rulings, while reserving the company's rights and not settling old claims. The board also underscored the importance of keeping the issue away from political tensions and documenting the technical condition before commissioning to ensure the safety of the units, along with adherence to legal procedures and financial guarantees. This step aims to increase supply and reduce the burden on citizens, while ensuring compliance with final court rulings.
