Management Committee reviews old rental law

During a session, the Administration and Justice Committee in Lebanon reviewed the ongoing study of two draft laws concerning old residential rent issues. They discussed the implementation of the current law and the difficulties faced in executing some of its provisions, particularly regarding the Rent Fund. The legislators emphasized the importance of respecting tenants' rights without harming property owners, highlighting the need to adopt objective criteria for rent increases and to differentiate between contracts signed before and after 1992. It was decided to continue the discussion next week after gathering more precise data and statistics.
