Egypt and Saudi Arabia Joint Entry

Egypt has provided direct support to Saudi Arabia in the context of escalating tensions in Yemen. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi requested that the parliament hold an emergency session to authorize him to take defensive measures to safeguard the security and stability of the Kingdom. This comes amid increasing Yemeni tensions and threats from the Houthis and energy facilities, with expectations that Egypt's move will become a defensive step aimed at reducing Iranian and Houthi escalation and strengthening Saudi Arabia's position within a broader coalition. Additionally, this support may impact the options available to the U.S. administration and the regional balance of power, as countries' differing stances on supporting the Saudi-Iranian coalition continue.
