France's ongoing quest for an adversary
The article discusses the ongoing protests in France and interprets their core as the essence of popular anger, reflecting a deep crisis within the state. This crisis relates to political, economic, and social divisions, moving away from explanations that link the protests to immigration or Islam. It points out that the history of French protests, such as the events of 1968 and the revolution of the 18th century, confirms that their causes have always been rooted in internal issues concerning politics and economics, rather than issues of migration or religion. France has constantly experienced a state of perpetual revolution, always seeking an external or internal enemy as a distraction from addressing its real crises.
