Istanbul heavy rain death toll rises

The death toll from heavy rains in Istanbul has risen to five people, with two individuals still missing. Search teams have concluded their efforts to recover the body of one victim, a 30-year-old Turkmen man who was swept away during the floods that have affected the city since last Wednesday. The intense rains, which increased significantly on Saturday and Sunday nights, caused flooding and accidents, including a car being washed away in Kocaeli, resulting in the deaths of two more people. The deputy governor confirmed that the situation is improving with the cessation of the rain and that evacuation operations are nearing completion, with an expected return to normal life soon.
