Engaged Couple Dies in Accident

A young man and a young woman, both 22 years old, lost their lives in a car accident near the Louisiana State University campus. A 20-year-old girl, driving under the influence of alcohol, lost control of her car, which then crashed into the two individuals walking along the side of the road. The young woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the young man was taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed. A breathalyzer test revealed that her blood alcohol level was above the legal limit for those under 21. The girl has been charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter. She had been driving after celebrating with her friends when she caused the accident that resulted in their deaths. Investigations are still ongoing.
