The article discussed Russia's broad allegations that Japan is using journalists for espionage activities, following the arrest of a Japanese journalist on Sakhalin Island on charges of espionage. The Russian Foreign Ministry clarified that Japanese journalist Yuki Imai was detained on suspicion of engaging in espionage activities on Russian territory. They confirmed that dozens of Japanese journalists accredited in Russia have received orders not to participate in events or communicate with official Russian entities.
