Nassir: No oversight or compromise on accountability

The article focused on the discussion panel sponsored by Lebanese Minister of Justice, Adel Nassar, regarding judicial accountability in political assassination cases in Lebanon. Nassar emphasized the importance of not forgetting the crimes of assassinations, rejecting impunity, and building society based on lessons from the past, while also working to open new judicial files to address major crimes. He also pointed out that the Lebanese judiciary faces significant challenges due to accumulated issues following successive wars, and that weapons must be restricted to the hands of the Lebanese state to ensure justice and accountability. The session concluded with a reaffirmation of the need to acknowledge the suffering of the victims' families and to strive for sustainable justice.
