Sanctions on Greek and Emirati Firms Linked to Iran

The U.S. Treasury Department announced the addition of new individuals, companies, and ships to the sanctions list related to Iran, as part of its efforts to impose control over economic activities and those supporting Iran. This includes companies involved in shipping and maritime trade, as well as ships flying the flags of Panama and the United Arab Emirates. The sanctions also targeted "Carnarques & Carnarques," a law firm in Greece and Panama that provided legal assistance to the Iranian shipping sector. Additionally, other companies and individuals connected to networks transporting Iranian oil and supporting the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Houthis were designated. The department issued licenses allowing for the settlement of certain transactions related to these entities, while continuing to enforce restrictions on their assets within the United States and abroad.
