Khayat calls for improved payments after Careem sit-in

MEP Company is experiencing a financial crisis related to the delayed payment of salaries to approximately 60 employees for the past five months, including around 40 at the Zouk plant and 20 at the Jiyeh plant. Their salaries range between $600 and $800 per month. Over the past few months, the company paid 60% of the salaries, then later issued an amount equivalent to 40% of May's salary. October's salary has yet to be paid, threatening the stability of the workers' lives and their families. This crisis coincides with the company's management efforts, headed by Karim Tahsin Khayat, to restart operations at the plants, despite the financial difficulties facing the employees.
