Mrs. Neamat Aoun, the Lebanese First Lady, participated in the Summit on Child Well-being in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. She presented the plight of Lebanese children affected by rising childhood cancer rates and the psychological impacts of the recent war, which has resulted in the deaths of over 250 children and injuries to more than a thousand since March 2026. She called for providing comprehensive healthcare and psychological support, rehabilitating affected children, and focusing on children's rights to education and protection. She highlighted the "Citizenship School" initiative, which has reached more than 30,000 students. She added that children's recovery from the effects of war continues even after the fighting ceases.
