The English Football Association has accused Everton forward, Martin Sharif, of breaching betting rules after allegations that he placed 61 bets on matches over a 15-month period, between November 2024 and February 2025. The 20-year-old Sharif is the latest player to face betting allegations, following the suspension of Brentford player Ivan Toney for eight months in 2023, due to betting misconduct, along with a financial penalty. Sharif did not feature for Everton's first team last season and was loaned out to third-division clubs Rotherham United and Port Vale. He has until August 17 to respond to the charges against him.
