Captain Abu Dhabi Recognizes 24 Honorees

The activities of the "Nakhda Abu Dhabi 2026" program, organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Abu Dhabi Club for Marine Sports Academy, have concluded. The program aims to promote Emirati maritime heritage and train a new generation of Nakhda (skippers). It ran from July 13 to August 20 in Abu Dhabi, Al Muroor, and Delma Island, with the participation of around 300 sailors, including individuals from the Persons of Determination category. The program included practical training in swimming, modern and traditional sailing, and marine environmental knowledge. At the closing ceremony, 24 outstanding sailors were honored, including participants from the Persons of Determination category, to encourage the preservation of maritime heritage and strengthen national identity. The program's goal is to sustain Emirati maritime heritage and develop local competencies in marine sports, while expanding its benefits to cover multiple areas of the emirate.
