Omar Al Soma rejoins Syrian team

Veteran striker Omar Al Soma has returned to the Syrian national football team after a hiatus of nearly two years, to participate in two friendly matches against Jordan and Uzbekistan. He was selected by Spanish coach José Lanao as part of a 23-player squad. At age 37, Omar Al Soma is currently playing for Al Wahda Damascus, having signed a two-year contract after a 15-year absence from the Syrian league since leaving Al Fata’a in 2011.
