Argentina's efforts to retain Scaloni
According to press reports, the Argentine Football Association is seeking to retain the national team coach, Lionel Scaloni, by offering a contract extending until the Copa America 2028 and the 2030 World Cup, following hints about his possible departure. The offer indicates the possibility of a two-year extension, with the potential to stay until the 2030 World Cup, as negotiations between the two parties are approaching an agreement. Scaloni had previously expressed his desire to take a break after losing the 2026 World Cup final, but details suggest that his contract is close to being renewed, keeping him as the head coach of the Argentine national team in the upcoming period.
