Asian Games end, Doha plans 2030

The Asian Games in Nagoya concluded with the participation of about 11,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions. China topped the medal table with 169 gold medals and a total of 341 medals. Japan finished second with 83 gold medals. The Games achieved several sports milestones, including a world record set by a Japanese swimmer, along with notable medals won by countries such as India and South Korea. Despite technical and organizational challenges faced by Japan, including high costs and suspension of some activities, the event demonstrated Japan’s ability to host a major sporting event. The upcoming host city in Doha in 2030 marks a return of the Games to Qatar, under the leadership of Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.
