Riyad Mahrez Arrives in Doha

Algerian star Riyad Mahrez has arrived in Doha to pave the way for his joining Al-Shamal Club in Qatar, after terminating his contract with Al-Ahli Saudi in July 2026. This move is part of preparations to participate with the team in the AFC Champions League and domestic competitions, where the club is competing in the Elite Championship. Mahrez, 35 years old, has been without a club since leaving Al-Ahli, and he has previously won several titles with clubs such as Leicester City and Manchester City, as well as led Algeria to victory in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. It is expected that Mahrez will meet with his Algerian and Moroccan teammates in the team, with the goal of strengthening the club's ranks in Asian and local tournaments.
