Morocco women's coach dismissed after 3 years

The Moroccan Football Federation has dismissed Spanish coach Jorge Vilda from his position as head coach of the national women's team after nearly three years in charge. This comes despite his leading the team to qualify for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil and reaching fourth place in the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco. Vilda had achieved significant milestones with the Spanish national team, including winning the 2023 Women's World Cup, but he faced resignation after his tenure with Spain ended, following the crisis that occurred after Spain's victory in the Women's World Cup. French coach Éric Blahich will now lead the Moroccan team during upcoming friendly matches, as the team prepares for a new phase ahead of the upcoming international competitions.
