Maradona's case risks penalties for medical team

Prosecutors in the Diego Maradona death case have demanded prison sentences ranging from 4 to 12 years for several members of the medical team who oversaw his final days, considering that their negligence and neglect contributed to his death. They are requesting 8 to 12 years in prison for three medical staff members accused of probable intentional homicide, and 4 to 5 years for other defendants facing lesser charges. Additionally, they have called for a 12-year prison sentence for neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, along with a 10-year ban from practicing medicine; a 10-year sentence for medical care coordinator Nancy Forlini; and an 8-year term for psychiatrist Augustina Kosachov. It is noted that Maradona died at the age of 60 following a heart attack and respiratory difficulties, after undergoing a minor neurological surgery at his home. The sessions are scheduled to continue for two weeks, after which a verdict will be issued.
