Enrique Comments on Ballon d'Or and City Case
Spanish coach Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, commented on the Manchester City case ahead of their Champions League encounter, emphasizing the importance of respecting procedures and awaiting the final decision from the authorities. Despite over a hundred financial violations against Manchester City in Premier League cases, the club insists on its innocence and is awaiting the final judgment. He praised the team's performance and assessed that they deserve all the titles they have won. Enrique expressed admiration for Manchester City's level under the leadership of Pep Guardiola and Enzo Mariska, viewing the match as a significant challenge, but he confirmed that the outcome would not determine his team's future. He added that the true picture of his team's level will become clear after the Christmas holidays. He also reaffirmed his commitment to his team's playing style, stating he would not change it to face City, and expressed his approval of Gianluigi Donnarumma's departure, considering that his team has many players worthy of the Ballon d'Or. He also voiced displeasure with the controversy surrounding the award, emphasizing the importance of staying calm and accepting criticism in football.
