Ex-Barcelona chief withdraws Messi criticism

Juan Gaspart, the former president of FC Barcelona, retracted his previous comments in which he criticized Lionel Messi, emphasizing that his words were misunderstood and that his intention was to express love and appreciation for the Argentine star. He clarified that Messi is aware of his relationship with him and that he wishes to hold an official farewell ceremony for Messi before his retirement. Gaspart reaffirmed that Messi is considered one of the club's greatest icons and that Barcelona owes him many accomplishments, expressing a desire to bid him farewell in a manner befitting his extraordinary career. This comes after Messi left Barcelona in the summer of 2021 due to the financial crisis, and discussions about honoring him and officially commemorating his image continue among the club and fans.
