FIFA's $6.35B Plan Unveiled

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) proposes to create a developmental plan worth $6.35 billion for the period 2027-2030, aimed at financing the distribution of funds to 211 national associations and continental federations. This plan will be partially funded from its financial reserves following the commercial success of the 2026 World Cup. The goal is to allocate $25 million to each federation, representing a significant increase from previous expectations. It is expected to be approved during FIFA's council meeting in Zurich amidst a backdrop of internal reforms and governance crises, with FIFA President Gianni Infantino preparing for his re-election in March 2027.
