Malaysia Looks to Reintroduce Formula 1

Malaysia is currently exploring the possibility of hosting Formula 1 races again on a regular basis, either seasonally or through a rotating system with other countries. This comes after the Sepang Circuit left the championship calendar in 2017 due to declining attendance and rising costs. The government is assessing the costs and economic benefits, with reports indicating that the race held this October generated approximately 950 million Ringgit (about $233 million) in revenue. A feasibility report for the project is expected to be submitted to Parliament by next November for a final decision, taking into consideration significant investment and infrastructure challenges, as well as the potential for future regular returns.
