FIFA reviews Peace Prize decision
The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) faces the possibility of canceling the controversial "Peace Award," which was awarded for the first time to former U.S. President Donald Trump in December during the World Cup draw in Washington. FIFA's council decided at its recent meeting in Zurich that the Social Responsibility Committee will assess whether the award meets its criteria, with the potential of not awarding it again to politicians if it is found unsuitable. A final decision is expected to be made in December during the FIFA Council meeting in Doha, amid questions about the appropriateness of launching the award and the previous decision to grant it, with a focus on evaluating its impact and relevance.
