Riyal warns Tebas of sanctions

Controversial statements made by Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, have long been a subject of debate. He compared the Real Madrid television channel to the propaganda methods of Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi Minister of Propaganda. Following this, the Spanish Sports Council was asked to assess whether his remarks violated Spanish sports law, which prohibits actions that damage the dignity of sports. The council clarified that such statements could harm the reputation of the sport and undermine fundamental values such as respect, coexistence, and fair play. Currently, sports authorities are examining the validity of these accusations, after the Royal Club requested Tebas's resignation following his comments that the arbitration system in Spain is unacceptable. Although Tebas has tried to clarify that he was making a comparison to propaganda techniques rather than Nazi ideology, the matter remains under review by the relevant authorities.
