Alibaba unveils its latest AI models

Alibaba has launched the most powerful AI model to date, named Qwen3.8-Max, which boasts processing capabilities of up to 2.4 trillion parameters, making it one of the strongest AI models globally. The model aims to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs by dividing tasks into specialized parts instead of activating all parameters simultaneously, with 95 billion parameters active during processing. It has a high capacity for handling text, images, and videos within an extensive context window of up to one million tokens. The model demonstrates advanced performance on the Arena.AI platform, where Chinese AI models lead, and it ranked second worldwide in image analysis and visual content understanding after the Claude Fable 5 model. It also proved capable of completing a comprehensive engineering and software project in just 16 days. The model will be made available to developers through the Model Studio platform next week.
