China to lead humanoid robot shipments

Chinese companies led the humanoid robot industry during the first half of 2026, capturing over 97% of global shipments. Approximately 19,100 units were shipped, representing an increase of more than three times compared to the same period last year. Chinese firm Agibot topped the global market with a 44% share of shipments, surpassing American companies like Tesla and Figure AI, amidst escalating competition and U.S. restrictions on importing Chinese robots for security reasons. Global shipments are expected to reach around 60,000 units by the end of 2026, with rapid growth continuing and more than 70% of shipments in the first half of 2026 being for industrial and commercial use.
