Google has launched the Motion Assist feature on phones running Android 17 to help users who experience motion sickness while using their phones inside vehicles. The feature relies on displaying animated visual cues that synchronize with the movement of the vehicle, aiming to reduce the discrepancy between what the eye sees and what the body feels. It can be activated through the Google Play services settings and offers options to customize the shape and color of the indicators, as well as the ability to automatically enable it when the system detects that the user is in a moving vehicle. Although the feature has been released for Android 17, it is being rolled out gradually and may not be available on all current Pixel devices immediately. Google has also surpassed previous system restrictions to allow these indicators to be displayed over more parts of the system interface.
