Journalistic investigations reveal that conversations users have with AI robots, such as "ChatGPT," could become evidence in legal and criminal cases, especially when dealing with sensitive topics or threats. Over the past two years, it was found that conversations with these systems were used in 12 cases, including instances related to threats, social media addiction, and mental health issues. Reports highlight that private conversations with robots do not currently enjoy sufficient legal protection, even though some cases have led to court confrontations or reports to authorities. Law enforcement agencies are increasingly requesting access to user data, with data showing that more than 80 accounts were uncovered in the second half of 2025, four times the number from the previous year. This situation raises concerns about user privacy and data monitoring boundaries, as the content of these conversations is currently not legally protected in a manner comparable to attorney-client confidentiality. As reliance on AI grows, this data could become an important tool in future investigations.
