WhatsApp Introduces Restricted Chat on Android and iOS

WhatsApp has announced the rollout of a new feature called "Restricted Chat" for beta users on Android and iOS devices, aimed at enhancing user privacy and control over their conversations. The feature imposes four main restrictions on the chat, including preventing automatic media saving, blocking chat export, disabling Meta's AI features, and restricting access via connected devices. The focus is on protecting sensitive content and reducing the risk of it being transferred or shared outside the app, while still maintaining end-to-end encryption of messages. The release date for all users has not yet been specified, but this step represents a move toward providing more precise privacy control tools amid the growing advancements in AI technologies and connected devices.
