WhatsApp tests simpler location sharing

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that makes it easier for users to request and receive their shared location from another person, via a button labeled "Request Location" within the Send Location tab. When the request is made, WhatsApp sends a message containing a digital card titled "Location Request." When the recipient taps on this card, their location is shared directly—either as an up-to-the-minute live update or as a static point without updates. This feature aims to simplify the process of sharing locations and reduce the problems caused by users, especially older individuals, having difficulty finding the share location option. Its functionality is similar to features found in the iMessage app.
