The proposed law, currently being discussed by the People's Assembly, emphasizes the need to establish clear rules for the production, distribution, and marketing of such products. It proposes setting licensing requirements, classifying products according to their level of risk, and guiding high-risk products through authorized channels like pharmacies, all with the goal of reducing health risks associated with the indiscriminate use of supplements. Currently, the sector employs around 600 people and is managed by 76 companies. Its market value exceeded 59 million dinars in 2023, contributing to quality control efforts and enhancing consumer protection.
