Enhancing highway with smart traffic systems
Tunisian Road Company continues to implement its program for upgrading and equipping the highway with intelligent guidance and traffic safety systems. The company has launched a new variable message sign (VMS) at the kilometer point 144 heading towards Sfax, just before the M'saken extraction station, aiming to improve communication with drivers and provide necessary information in a timely manner. Similarly, comparable guidance signs are being installed at the kilometer point 129 in both directions, along with a dynamic weighing unit to enhance the monitoring and safety system on the road. These projects aim to improve mobility conditions, reduce accidents and traffic disruptions, increase safety through the continuous dissemination of guidance and warning messages, and employ modern technology to develop the road infrastructure and offer safer and more comfortable services to road users.
