Higher Education Minister at IAEA Conference

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Monzer Beltaïd, participated in the 70th Annual Session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference, held in Vienna from September 14 to 18, 2026. In his speech, he affirmed Tunisia’s commitment to the peaceful and safe use of nuclear technology, supporting non-proliferation and nuclear security, with a focus on international cooperation to harness nuclear applications in health, food, water, and the environment. Additionally, the minister signed the National Framework Program for Cooperation between Tunisia and the Agency for the period 2026–2030, which outlines seven priority areas: nuclear safety, health, agriculture, water, industrial applications, energy planning, and nuclear knowledge management, all aimed at enhancing the benefits of nuclear technologies to support national development.
