Economy Minister signs $698M guarantees

Tunisia has signed two agreements with the African Development Bank to secure funding for two strategic projects aimed at improving productivity in the water, energy, and environment sectors. The first, amounting to €111.5 million (approximately 377 million dinars), will support the enhancement of the drinking water network performance in Greater Tunis. The second, valued at $110 million (about 321 million dinars), is allocated for environmental rehabilitation and the modernization of the Tunisian Chemical Complex’s production units. This initiative is part of the development plan for 2026-2030, focused on strengthening food and water security, energy security, and environmental protection, with the government reaffirming its commitment to support strategic institutions in achieving their economic and social objectives.
