Grant applications now open for electric taxis

The National Agency for Energy Control in Tunisia announced the opening of applications for a financial grant of 10,000 dinars to purchase an electric taxi (individual taxi vehicle), as part of a program to promote electric mobility funded by the Global Environment Facility. The program targets holders of valid "individual taxi" licenses aged between 31 and 59 years, provided they have preliminary approval for financing the purchase from a bank or financial leasing company, or can demonstrate the ability to self-finance. The agency will allocate funding for up to 24 vehicles, and applications will be selected based on the submission order and gender balance. Beneficiaries are required to use the vehicle for at least five years, providing data on electricity consumption and distance traveled every six months. The grant must be reimbursed if the vehicle is sold before the end of the period, except in cases of force majeure.
