OMV Advances in Southern Tunisia

Omf Austrian Company Continues to Expand Its Activities in the Energy Sector in Southern Tunisia After More Than Five Decades of Working in the Country Object of Discoveries and Hope for Increased Production The company announced new discoveries, including gas wells and oil-bearing formations, in the Azizia and Sabeh licenses, thanks to the exploitation of existing facilities within the Nawara project, which connects these discoveries to the current infrastructure without the need for new processing projects. Despite this, the company's production is expected to decrease from approximately 2.5 million barrels of oil equivalent in 2024 to around 2 million barrels in 2025, due to increased tax investments and royalties paid to the Tunisian government, totaling about €31 million. The company remains keen to strengthen its presence in the Nawara area and develop new licenses, aiming to expand its operations in southern Tunisia.
