Fukuoka Method Used in Bagya Waste Project

The expansion of the waste disposal site in the Beyja Governorate has been completed using the "Fukuoka Method" for the first time in the country. This innovative Japanese technique relies on natural aeration to accelerate the decomposition of organic materials and reduce the emission of harmful gases such as methane. Trained engineers from the agency in the Japanese city of Fukuoka have implemented this technology. It is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 512 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually, contributing to Tunisia's efforts to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and lower its carbon footprint.
