Dates harvesting underway amid promising season

Farmers in the Kebili Governorate have begun harvesting Delek El Nour dates, with expectations that the season will be exceptional in terms of quality and prices, due to the crop being free of pests and the quality of the fruit. Although the ripening process is still in its early stages, forecasts suggest an overall production of around 260,000 tons, including 247,000 tons of Delek El Nour, representing a decrease compared to the previous season. The farmers aim to accelerate the packaging of the bunches in preparation for rain, while the sector is preparing strategies for support and marketing to strengthen the presence of Tunisian dates both locally and internationally.
