Montreal murder of Tunisian Leila Ben Salem questions remains

The Tunisian Leila Ben Salem (45 years old), an employee at the Canadian Federal Agency, was tragically killed by an unknown assailant during a Zoom meeting in Montreal on September 22nd. The attacker attacked her with a sharp instrument in front of her colleagues. As weeks went by, resolving the case became more complicated, as police efforts to identify the main suspect failed, despite the presence of a known suspect seen near the building, who has since disappeared entirely. It is estimated that the likelihood of solving a murder drops by 50% if no evidence is found within 48 hours, making the investigation more challenging and increasing difficulty in apprehending the perpetrator. Police are still relying on data analysis and digital security techniques, and the case remains a cold case. Concerns continue about the possibility of the assailant escaping justice, while the victim's family has called for truth to be uncovered and safety restored to the community.
