Tunisie Telegraph: Doctors Face Deportation Clash

The article addresses the issue of using forged medical certificates to obstruct the deportation procedures of migrants in Italy. Investigations have been conducted with a group of doctors across several cities, including four accused of conspiring to issue false certificates. One such case involves the Tunisian young man, Saif, whose deportation was delayed due to unsubstantiated health concerns, causing disruptions in his repatriation process to Tunisia. The investigation focuses on how forged medical certificates impact deportation operations, with searches carried out in 23 locations. Records indicate that 64 individuals underwent examinations, and authorities acknowledged that 34 of them were not eligible for deportation. The case of Saif highlights how legal procedures can intersect with other criminal issues, such as drug trafficking, as he was detained following security investigations and his deportation was suspended due to the forged medical certificates.
