IMF: AI Bolsters Global Economy
The Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, confirmed that strong investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure help maintain global economic growth at around 3 percent, despite pressures resulting from the energy supply shock. She explained that the surge in investment in AI represents a "demand and investment shock" that could boost economic growth in advanced economies by between 0.5 and 1 percentage point, and in emerging Asian economies by between 0.2 and 0.8 percentage points, with significant benefits for Asian economies that export device components, such as Thailand.
