Tunisian Customs Seize 101kg Cocaine in 9 Months
During the first nine months of 2026, Tunisian Customs seized more than 101 kilograms of cocaine, surpassing the total amount confiscated throughout all of 2025, which was 94 kilograms. Additionally, over 153 kilograms of cannabis and 291,000 drug pills were also seized at border crossings and along roads. Customs spokesperson, Brigadier Shukri Al-Jabri, noted an increasing interest among individuals in the country for this drug, emphasizing that Tunisia remains a small but expanding market for cocaine trade, particularly among the more affluent demographic in coastal cities. This trend aligns with reports on organized crime in Africa and the United Nations 2026 Drug Report.
